Here you find our visitor centre and our two major exhibitions: "The People of Flatvika" and "The Russian Shipwreck". The museum also houses a gallery, museum shop and Tourist Information.

During the summer season (20. June - 20. August) the museum is open every day between 10.00 - 18.00.

The costal museum in Fillan
By car
Follow road 714 to Fillan. Continue straight ahead through both roundabouts. After 200 metres follow the road sign to the right. Kystmuseet is visible from the road. Distance from Trondheim: 2h.
By boat
Three daily departures to Sandstad from Trondheim and Kristiansund, Monday to Friday. Bus correspondence from the boat terminal to Fillan.
By bus
Route 320 from Trondheim and from Frøya has a daily departure to Hitra. The bus stops just outside the museum.
