Aquaculture Pioneer Exhibition

"The Pioneers" is an exhibition about the first developers of fish farming as an industry. These pioneers made way for the subsequent larger companies that has established aquaculture as Norway's second largest export industry. Only the petroleum industry is bigger.

The exhibition presents 18 pioneers from different parts of Norway, each with their unique story, but all with the common belief that this was the future seafood industry.

Free entrance.

At the Sandstad Terminal you can also watch the local artist Astri Reppe's paintings, displaying the Norse God of the sea Ægir, his wife and daughters. Ægir has also given name to The Coastal Museum's aquaculture section.
